The Fathers' Day Edit

Make

Pancakes!

Because who doesn't love pancakes? Whip them up and take them in with shamed siblings in tow. This is my go-to fail proof recipe, I make the blueberry but you can omit them:

1 tablespoon baking powder
1 pinch of salt
1 teaspoon white sugar
2 large eggs (beaten)
30 grams butter (melted and cooled)
300 millilitres milk
225 grams plain flour
A punnet of blueberries
butter for frying

Blitz together all ingredients except the blueberries in a food processor. Add the blueberries to your mixture. Shove some butter in your pan and wait until it melts completely. On a mid heat ladle in some of your mixture. Wait until it begins to bubble on the top and then flip it over. Stack them up high with dollops of greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup (Aunt Jemima essential) and top with more berries.

The gift...

If you are strapped for cash, make your gift/ your card. All you need is some strong sellotape and some petrol station choccies plus a bit of creativity!

Go

Le Relais de Venise

If you are looking for a reasonable but sophisticated dad-friendly option is the way to go. Steak and chips are pretty limitless and the only option but their secret sauce is the real reason you are going.

Bodean's

Bodean's is a BBQ Smokehouse, so if your dad is anything like mine, I will leave it there.

I mean look at this...
